National
celebrities, appearing from year to year in the media, are almost like quasi-fictional
soap opera characters - their biographical narratives, romances and professional
interests spread out for all the world to see. Familiar celebrities are
both products and producers of national media - the stuff entertainment
is made of. |
|
|
Sometimes,
however, it would be nice to switch off to another soap, to get rid of some
characters and to get acquainted with new ones. |
|
|
International
Celebrity Exchange Program (ICEP) serves this purpose, providing a marketplace
for too familiar and worn out national celebrities to be auctioned to other
countries, where there might be need and demand for such characters. As
finished, tested and already succesful products these experienced celebrities
are guaranteed to spice up any media environment. |
|
|
Exchange being the
keyword, ICEP is not after money. In stead our action on grassroot level
aims to ameliorate media climates around the globe by exchanging celebrities
to others. Market forces do however influence our action: celebrity with
high market value can be exchanged to several minor ones, depending on the
demand. |
